As we’ve mentioned before, Diamond Guest House is a pretty sweet spot in the heart of Camps Bay. We’re obviously a bit biased as we feature them on our site, but don’t just take our word for it. Let’s see what the internet says about this establishment, with the launch of our new series – “What the Internet says“, which pulls reviews from the world wide web.
From Trip Advisor
“Diamond House was the first place we stayed in all of South Africa. We just went over the new year and had a great experience! It is in the perfect location- far enough from the downtown to feel safe, yet close enough to everything we wanted to do. The staff there were very helpful and made sure our stay was memorable. There are only 6 or so rooms so it is nice and quiet. They have a nice selection of wine and beer and the breakfast that is included was great. We will be back to the Diamond House in the future!
Room Tip: We upgraded to the ocean view and it was worth it. Amazing views to wake up to.”
“Great Views of Lion’s Head”
“Nicely decorated large room with air conditioning. The only thing that may help would be thicker curtains for later lie-ins – not that it bothered us as we were up early. Breakfast room had a lovely view over Camps Bay and Lion’s Head. Good selection on the buffet breakfast followed by eggs and bacon. The smallish swimming pool area has a fantastic view of Lion’s Head and down to Camp’s. Wi-fi worked well for us by the pool and in the main house / breakfast area. Sigi and Heather were very nice and helpful in telling us what there was to do in the area and recommending restaurants. Diamond House is about a 15 min walk to the beach where there are good restaurants.
Sigi recommended getting taxis back in the evening which cost about R40 – just make sure you know where you’re going as some of the drivers don’t! .”
“Nestled below the mountainside with superb sea views from the roof terrace. Rooms are well furnished and clean with an excellent breakfast. You’ll need a car to get anywhere from here and is, like most places in and around the area, very hilly so not conducive to walking or strolling. Parking at the house or off-road. Hosts Sigge and Heather very helpful and friendly. Would be happy to recommend this accommodation to others.
Room Tip: The Pool Room is a little more private but still central to the house and is probably quieter than the other suites”
“Best value for money”
“Stayed at Diamond House for nine days and it was great. Truly the best value for money Guest House I have ever stayed at. Service was excellent and staff were gracious and professional. Very, very highly suggested staying there on your next trip to CT, I definitely am.”

“A perfectly relaxing stay”
“Helga was an excellent host and made sure I had everything I needed, including a late check-out. Because it was quite a gloomy weekend, she turned on the heater so that my room was warm on arrival. The view is spectacular, breakfast generous and diverse, underfloor heating is a plus on these cold nights, and the place is very well kept!”
“A beutiful quiet spot on the hillside overlooking Camps Bay and the sunset each evening. Clean freindly well equiped and contempary yet homely. Staff Helga and Ziggi superb”
